1) SSADM


SSADM, or Structured Systems Analysis and Design Methodology, is a systems approach to the analysis and design of information systems. SSADM was originally produced for the CCTA (part of the OGC), in the 1980s.


System design methods are a discipline within the software development industry which seek to provide a framework for activity and the capture, storage, transformation and dissemination of information so as to enable the economic development of computer systems that are fit for purpose.


SSADM is a 'waterfall' method by which an IS design can be arrived at; SSADM is sometimes thought to represent a pinnacle of the rigorous document-led approach to system design, and contrasts with more contemporary 'Rapid Application Development' methods.



2) DSDM


DSDM, Dynamic Systems Development Method, is a 'Rapid Application Development' method concerned mainly with the development of computerised Information Systems. It originated in the UK in 1994 as a vendor-neutral method and is managed by a consortium of interested companies and individuals.


System development methods are part of a broad discipline within the software development industry which seek to provide a framework for activity and the capture, storage, transformation and dissemination of information so as to enable the economic development of computer systems that are fit for purpose.



3) RAD


RAD, Rapid Application Development, is a software programming technique that allows quick development of software applications. Some RAD implementations include visual tools for development and others generate software frameworks through tools known as "wizards."
